why am i so tired after gym?? i just want a nap
Quote from bookworm1973 on February 24, 2019, 11:04 amI just got home from Planet Fitness at 730pm. My back hurts so bad. I spent way too much time in traffic on the 405. Then I had to make dinner for the kids, tacos because they refused the chicken. Now they are eating and leaving a mess. I cleaned up and now I am just sitting here. I was supposed to do abs but I couldnt even lift the small dumbbell. Is it normal to feel this drained? I drink coffee all day but it doesnt help. My eyes feel heavy. I want to go to bed but I still have to grade papers for tomorrow. I feel like garbage. Do you guys feel this tired after working out or is just me? Please tell me I am not lazy.

Quote from peakivy on October 1, 2020, 12:17 pmGirl no that ain't normal. My knees click like crazy after sitting in that pew for two hours on Sunday but it settles down quick. If it hurts this bad after just a few hours something is wrong. I iced mine last night and took a baby aspirin. Hope you feel better soon darlin. Take care of yourself honey.

Quote from Megan1996 on October 1, 2020, 12:17 pmhola girl. i get it. after my daughter was born i felt the exact same way. like my body belongs to everyone else but me. i just tell him i’m not in the headspace. we cuddle or watch telenovelas instead. no pressure. your body is yours, dont force it. take all the time u need. we’ll get there when ur ready.

Quote from Sweety1970 on November 4, 2020, 2:19 ammy knees feel like lead too after driving all day. i just pop up every hour to stretch my legs and do some squats if i can. sometimes i put ice on them when i get home. its crazy how much sitting hurts older bodies. try not to stay in one spot for too long if you can help it. take care of yourself.

Quote from Budvineyard on January 20, 2020, 10:34 pmyeah its totally normal. i lift heavy twice a week out here and my quads are trash for two days straight. cant even climb the stairs to get up without groaning. just keep moving a little bit. drinking water helps too. if it burns too bad try some heat. don't expect to walk normal tomorrow though. just tough it out.

Quote from Megan1998 on April 6, 2020, 8:11 pmhonestly just grab coffee. keeps it low pressure and cheap. i text that i’m heading to starbucks and if they wanna join cool. if not whatever. no big fancy dinners where you’re stuck for hours if it’s a vibe mismatch. keeps it simple. don’t overthink it bro.

Quote from Citygirl2000 on March 3, 2020, 9:02 pmsame. i treat it like i have to go to the office. hate that vibe so bad. my abuela would yell at me for sweating for money lol. usually just put on bad salsa music and pretend im dancing not lifting. makes it less boring at least. if it feels like work im doing something wrong maybe but idk. just push through and leave.

Quote from webrecital on February 21, 2020, 8:38 pmHonestly yes I do it twice a week even at my age. Yes it hurts the next day but the strength is worth it. I just lifted light dumbbells and did some squats yesterday. Felt like jelly today but I can still carry my groceries and play with my grandkids without my back killing me. Just stretch well and drink plenty of water. It keeps me independent and strong.

Quote from Siltredoubt on October 1, 2020, 2:07 amnah it is totally possible i just turn 38 last week and my energy levels are actually higher than they were in my twenties. Honestly, i stopped eating processed sugar and started lifting heavy weights 4 days a week. also sleep matters so much more now. if u are sleeping 6 hours and drinking lattes all day yeah ur gonna feel dead. change the routine and the energy comes back simple as that

Quote from Moongem on April 24, 2020, 11:43 pmHonestly same. That humidity gets to me every single night. I stopped trying to fight it and just bought those gel cooling pads for the mattress. Works a little better than flipping sheets. Also keep a damp washcloth by the bed and rotate it in the freezer. Not glamorous but it helps me get maybe six hours. Good luck out there.
