husband refuses to shower before bed seriously
Quote from Harptrek on April 2, 2019, 5:50 amIt is 11:30 pm. He is clean shaven and has brushed his teeth. He just walked out of the bathroom without running the water. I asked him to shower because he has been working on the deck all day. He said he wiped down with a wet towel in the garage. We bought those unscented wipes at Target for four dollars last week. He used one. I smell sawdust and sweat when I try to sleep next to him. My nose itches. I keep waking up at 3 am sneezing. He says it is cold and he has to drive at 6 am. I am tired of smelling like a construction site in our own bed. Do you let your partner skip showers if they claim they are busy?

Quote from dellvoucher on November 28, 2019, 2:23 pmHonestly i just stopped apologizing for it. Lol, My auntie sat me down and said my body is mine not his obligation. Now i just say no clearly without over explaining. If they get mad that’s on them. Also make sure you’re not just burnt out from kitchen duty all week. Rest is valid. Keep your boundaries firm sis.

Quote from Soft1995 on August 12, 2020, 4:40 amHoney I feel you. I get it too. As soon as I think I am cured, boom, back to bed. I just keep a stash of chicken soup mix and extra blankets ready. I take my vitamins religiously now and try to sleep early. It is annoying but I just ride it out. Drink lots of water and stay warm. Hope you feel better soon love.

Quote from Rainparting on April 14, 2020, 12:17 pmit is 11 pm and the house is dead quiet. my husband fell asleep on the couch at 930 pm with the tv still on. i just did laundry for the fourth time this week because the kids spill juice everywhere. i went to target today for a $2 cereal box and spent $80 on stuff i do not need. now i am sitting here drinking rooibos tea but i cannot relax. the air feels heavy. why does my home feel so cold and empty when my whole family is literally in the other room? i tried lighting a candle from ulta but it did not help. i just feel so drained. is this normal or am i just crazy?

Quote from peachblossom1986 on September 15, 2020, 11:15 pmi literally nod off in my car for ten mins before going home. just sit there and breathe. its the only quiet i get. dont try to be a hero after those meetings. they drain u. so just chill. drink some water. maybe soak your feet if u can. keep it simple. no fancy routines needed. just rest.

Quote from Freescale on January 25, 2020, 4:11 amI get it. My husband was pushing hard too. I stopped overthinking the performance part and just told him we need low pressure. We switched to just touching without expecting penetration. Took the edge off for both of us. Now we actually want to be closer. Don’t force it if your body says no. Communication works better than ghosting through it. Just be honest.

Quote from trueseaside1987 on April 19, 2020, 2:48 pmHonestly yeah i cancelled headspace last year. I swear, saved the money and just sit on my balcony with my phone in another room. 10 mins of staring at the void works just as well. apps are just a business model targeting anxious professionals. plus the constant notifications reminding you to meditate is ironic at best. keep it simple.

Quote from Tealaccord on January 25, 2021, 9:21 pmhonestly i stopped keeping score years ago. now i just buy myself flowers and go get lunch with my best friend. we laugh about it over coffee. he gets the silent treatment until he remembers next time. dont waste your energy crying over it. treat yourself instead. my husband forgot our 30th too. i just changed the subject and ordered pizza. life goes on.

Quote from Nicole1999 on March 16, 2021, 7:02 amUgh that sounds so frustrating. My guy did the same thing, calling me crazy for wanting to talk while he was just scrolling on his phone. I stopped trying to fix it. I just told him I need him to be present or I’m gonna take my energy elsewhere. If he stays distant, mirror that. Don’t let him gaslight you into thinking you’re too much when he’s putting in zero effort. Keep it real with yourself.
