Quote from Spirittask on August 31, 2023, 11:15 amSame situation here man. My husband acts like the kids are not his. I am exhausted holding everything down while he just sits there. My mom and sisters literally had to step in to help with the little ones otherwise I would have collapsed. It drives me crazy that I have to do everything. Just venting cause I have no energy left for this nonsense. Need a break badly.

Quote from dancequeen1989 on March 26, 2024, 5:04 pmbasit, true feeling like garbage is not normal. I am 58 now, body pain starts after breakfast. But I walk in park every morning with chai in hand. Doctor says keep moving. Sar ka bhari pareshani? Forget it. Just eat good food and sleep well. No drama please. Life continues, we just have to adjust our chappal and keep walking.

Quote from happy1968 on November 25, 2024, 2:19 amYeah totally normal. Honestly, My man does this all the time. He just shuts up and goes outside or looks at his phone. I used to think something was wrong but then i figured out he just needs space to recharge. Now i just let him be. If i bother him he gets cranky so i just go do my own thing too. Its peaceful actually.

Quote from Cometfield on November 25, 2024, 2:19 amhonestly i just chuckle and say no thanks. i need a solid block of quiet to actually decompress. five minutes feels like a blink. sometimes he wants to talk though so i just say lets talk over dinner later. i force a little boundary without making it huge. my brain still feels foggy from grading so i really need that space. just be upfront about needing downtime.

Quote from anna1982 on February 8, 2024, 12:50 pmYeah totally. I used to say yes to everything and ended up burnt out before the season even started. Now I just ghost people who ask favors if theyre not close friends. Saves me so much mental energy. If they get mad they werent worth the hassle anyway. Focus is everything when you have real goals. No guilt allowed.

Quote from Danielle1995 on March 13, 2024, 1:35 pmHonestly same here. For real, I used to force myself to meditate for twenty minutes every morning and it just felt like another item on my to, do list. Now I just read one chapter of a book before bed. No pressure, no timer, just me and the story. If I miss a night, I dont sweat it. It stopped feeling like a chore once I stopped treating it like a performance and just kept it ridiculously low stakes.

Quote from roottag on May 13, 2024, 11:23 pmmy husband used to think sex was a daily maintenance task. we compromised on wednesdays and sundays. honestly the rest of the week I just wanted horizontal time. if he cant get off to schedule tell him the bedroom is closed for renovation until further notice. sleep is non negotiable for me now.

Quote from Gatetask on April 11, 2024, 3:55 amsame. i treat it like i have to go to the office. hate that vibe so bad. my abuela would yell at me for sweating for money lol. usually just put on bad salsa music and pretend im dancing not lifting. makes it less boring at least. if it feels like work im doing something wrong maybe but idk. just push through and leave.

Quote from Indigowaterway on October 16, 2024, 4:02 pmnah i would just tell her straight up. tell her its not our culture or tradition here. we don't do that kind of stuff in the house. its confusing for my kids too. just say no politely but firmly. dont let her push it. keep the space yours. if she keeps it up ask her to do it at her place or temple. boundary setting is key fam.

Quote from karen1995 on October 2, 2024, 7:16 amHonestly yeah i cancelled headspace last year. saved the money and just sit on my balcony with my phone in another room. 10 mins of staring at the void works just as well. apps are just a business model targeting anxious professionals. plus the constant notifications reminding you to meditate is ironic at best. keep it simple.
