my mother in law keeps doing pooja in my house
Quote from creekoscillation on September 10, 2019, 1:22 pmI am so tired of this drama. My MIL comes over at 5 am every morning to do pooja. The incense smell sticks to my curtains for days. I work from home and the ringing bells distract my calls. Yesterday she bought new flowers from the Hindu store on Main Street. Cost me forty dollars. I told her it is too much but she says it is for blessings. My kids wake up because of the noise. I just want some peace in my own house. She also leaves the remnants of the offerings on the dining table until I clean it up. It feels like I am living in a temple not a home. I have asked her to stop but she ignores me. What should I do about this situation.

Quote from LuckyBear on March 18, 2019, 10:48 amSame. I just walk fast around my neighborhood after clase. No gym, no counting macros, no expensive supplements. Just me and my thoughts. Sometimes I lift heavy boxes at work and thats enough resistance for me. I drink water and try to sleep 7 hours. If I feel like moving, I dance to bad bops in my room. Its not pretty but it keeps me sane. Why overcomplicate it when simply staying alive already takes so much effort?

Quote from goldsilver on June 18, 2019, 5:11 amSame situation here man. My husband acts like the kids are not his. I am exhausted holding everything down while he just sits there. My mom and sisters literally had to step in to help with the little ones otherwise I would have collapsed. It drives me crazy that I have to do everything. Just venting cause I have no energy left for this nonsense. Need a break badly.

Quote from kind2002 on August 27, 2020, 7:32 pmHesitate on the waistband every morning. Trousers feel finer. Pants are stretchy so they hide the truth. I m still in sweatpants most days anyway. Hoodie too. Not trying to prove anything to anyone right now. Just trying to get through the week without crying. One day at a time. Next.

Quote from oceanbreeze2001 on October 18, 2020, 2:08 amGirl same. I look at him and my brain just goes offline. I say baby not tonight I can barely lift my head off the pillow. He actually started getting the hint after I threatened to move to the guest room every night. Now we do like twice a week and I feel like a better person about it. Rest is priority rn.

Quote from Rosepromise on December 22, 2020, 2:53 pmI just say no and stop explaining myself. My body, my rules. If he cant handle that we done. I used to feel bad but now I see it as lazy communication on my part. You dont owe anyone access to yourself. Just be clear and consistent. If guilt creeps in remind yourself that you are allowed to rest too.

Quote from leaffire on February 19, 2020, 3:27 amHoney honestly at 54 i am just so done. Kids are grown and i got my garden to tend to so that clock just stopped for me. My husband thinks im cold but nah im just tired. We watch tv and hold hands most nights and that is perfectly fine. Dont let nobody make you feel bad about needing rest instead of racking the barn. Peace is good too.

Quote from Ivoryexit on October 16, 2020, 3:50 amwe moved 3 times last year. my husband thinks moving boxes is mans work but folding shirts is mine. i let the living room pile up. he complained once then carried the trash to curb himself. dont cook fancy food on day 1. order pizza. if house isnt perfect but kids are fed and beds are made thats win in my book. survival mode is real for immigrant moms.

Quote from Marie on May 6, 2020, 7:57 amHonestly he sounds typical desi husband type. After work he just sits on sofa with phone. I tell him behave like normal human being. Sometimes we just sit together drinking chai saying nothing and it is okay. But if silence means he ignores you completely that is red flag. Talk to him clearly about what you need. Don't guess his feelings.

Quote from Martha1978 on November 14, 2021, 9:53 pmHonestly yeah. Omg, After kids and coding all day, my battery is dead before I even shower. I just want five mins without checking Slack. My partner gets it now, we stick to cuddling or quickies when energy allows. No pressure, no date nights planning stress. Just existing together. If ur forcing it, it gets worse. Take the pressure off.
