Keeping the spark alive
Quote from snowsand on October 9, 2022, 1:51 pmI don’t deal with that nonsense. If my husband speaks to me with disrespect, I shut it down right then. I tell him I’m not accepting that tone and I’m walking away until he can speak properly. You aren’t too sensitive, you just have standards. Don’t let him gaslight you into thinking his bad behavior is your problem. Walk away if he won’t change.

Quote from Bright1986 on August 28, 2022, 7:45 pmHonestly I just stopped apologizing. My husband thinks I’m mad sometimes but I’m not. Just tired. Or bored. It’s okay. We cuddle instead. Or watch TV. I don’t force it. If I want to, it happens. If not, we sleep. My body isn’t a public service. Try that. It works for us. At least the guilt is gone for me.

Quote from midnightmoon1997 on November 21, 2022, 1:37 amusually its just dehydration and low blood sugar hitting at once. i drink a big glass of water immediately after and eat something with carbs and protein within 30 mins. if i skip the postrun snack i feel terrible too. also make sure you actually cool down with a walk instead of just stopping dead. helps the cortisol drop

Quote from Natalie1999 on April 11, 2022, 1:08 pmhonestly same. ive stopped trying to meditate every morning and guilt myself for missing days. now i just do what feels doable. sometimes its five minutes of breathing, other times its napping. im done performing spirituality. i teach second grade so i deal with chaos all day, im not adding mental load. just be kind to yourself.

Quote from Oceanbreeze1984 on November 13, 2022, 11:26 pmim literally the same. i had my third cup yesterday around 3pm because i refused to take a nap during my work break. now im staring at my phone at 11pm. im a runner so i tell myself caffeine helps my workouts but honestly its just bad habits. do u drink it after that time often or was this just today?

Quote from Diana1988 on January 8, 2023, 11:32 pmI feel this. Last year I hit a wall too. I’m a teacher so I spend all day pouring into others and come home with nothing left. I realized it wasnt laziness, it was just burnout. Now I force myself to rest without guilt. Honestly just taking a nap or doing absolutely nothing for an hour changed everything. Youre not lazy, youre just drained. Be kind to yourself.

Quote from warmgarden2002 on April 3, 2023, 12:49 amim so there. kept an old fashioned hot water bottle by my bed all night. just put it on while i was still warm. by the time i needed it for the kid, it was ready. saves having to run back to the bathroom. also got a stash of fever reducers in the kids room. you dont want to hunt in the dark. drink some tea. take turns if he has a sitter.

Quote from gentleforest1979 on October 20, 2023, 1:57 ami dont believe in auras but i know what burnout feels like. Lol, if you cant function through your day its exhaustion not a spiritual crisis. i took a mental health day this week just to sleep and eat real food. no screens. you need rest not a cleanse. drop whatever isnt urgent and go lie down. your body is screaming at you to stop. listen to it.

Quote from Sweety1998 on March 13, 2023, 3:25 amyeah mostly. i canceled mine after two months. the 10 minute guided sessions are fine but paying $15/mo for the same info you get on youtube for free is rough. now i just stare at a wall or listen to rain sounds. saves money, same stress relief. if you really need structure, buy a book once. cheaper in the long run.

Quote from cloudtrough on October 25, 2023, 6:36 pmsame. i just ice it after work and take arnica tablets because my mom says pills are poison. also stretch before bed even though i hate it. honestly just resting lets the inflammation die down mostly. i wear compression sleeves too. its annoying but i try to avoid ibuprofen unless its absolutely necessary. my knees are wrecked from too much sitting all day. just baby them i guess.
