Quote from Towerroot on October 25, 2024, 12:14 amHonestly I just stopped caring about the scale. At 48 divorce was hard enough, didnt need to add body shaming to the plate. I gym to keep my joints happy and clear my head. If I skip a week, so be it. I walk my dog daily and lift light weights twice a week. Consistency over intensity for me now. Just doing what feels manageable keeps me from burning out.

Quote from wildflower1986 on February 21, 2024, 7:21 pmugh right. i used to try deep breathing but it just made me more anxious. now i just zone out with loud action movies or listen to true crime podcasts. keeps my brain busy so i dont overthink. also ice baths help when my muscles feel tight from stress. honestly just numbing the noise out works better than trying to calm down. its exhausting being on high alert all the time.

Quote from martha1980 on June 20, 2024, 1:31 amMine hurt too after leg day. I just ice them and wrap them tight. Rest is key. Dont push through the pain or youll make it worse. Drink lots of water and stretch gently. If it still hurts after a few days see a doc. My grandma always said listen to your body, it knows when its tired. Take it easy for a bit.

Quote from Rubylodge on May 20, 2024, 9:05 amGlad you posted that. I sat on my porch for an hour after my last scare just drinking ice water and shaking. Youre not alone in the loss of control. Its messy and ugly. Cry it out. I keep my tissues in every room now. Just breathe through it one minute at a time. We will survive this but it hurts like hell right now.

Quote from Wildheart1988 on December 27, 2024, 9:57 pmmy husband is the same way. we just sit watch tv and hold hands. he says its enough to feel close. i tried talking more but he gets shut down. so now i just lean into it. sometimes silence is better than fake words. dont force convo if hes not there. just sit with him. it works for us even if it feels weird at first. trust the quiet.

Quote from Bakerbee1977 on June 15, 2024, 6:26 amsick days are a myth for most of us; im pushing through the body aches right now because rent doesnt pause. just chugging electrolytes and taking ibuprofen every six hours like clockwork; if i feel feverish at work i step out to the parking lot to cool down. its not ideal but it keeps the check coming in; survive one day at a time.

Quote from Soft1985 on September 19, 2024, 11:41 ami literally just stopped asking him to do anything. if i need something done i do it myself or hire a babysitter for an hour. my sanity is worth more than his participation. dont wait around for him to step up he wont. lower your expectations to zero and stop explaining what you need. it just saves everyone the drama.

Quote from Brightstar1993 on August 17, 2024, 1:40 pmi usually just stop talking. Omg, him calling me sensitive is classic gaslighting. i walk away and let him sit in that energy. my spirit cant be drained by that nonsense. ur feelings are valid. dont let him rewrite ur reality. sometimes the best revenge is doing nothing and letting him feel the weight of his own words. stay grounded sis.

Quote from WillowRose on August 17, 2024, 1:40 pmHonestly same here. My guy works long hours too and comes home completely drained. I learned to just not make it a big deal. Sometimes we cuddle and call it a day. Other times he showers and we try later when hes a bit more rested. Just accept it and focus on other ways to connect like cooks dinner together or watching a show. No pressure is key for us.

Quote from Dawnmoss on January 23, 2024, 12:29 pmsame here. i just stare at the ceiling till my eyes hurt. usually its work stuff or wondering if i said something stupid. eventually i get up to drink water and check emails which is stupid but hey. then i feel worse. so i go back to bed. it’s a vicious cycle of overthinking and bad decisions. gonna try nap time tonight instead.
