46 and feel like im running on empty am i just lazy??
Quote from Megan2000 on May 22, 2022, 5:06 pmI just throw a load of laundry in and call it a day. My husband complains but he never helps so I just ignore him. I’m black and white but mostly exhausted from moving every two years. Chicago winters are brutal enough without stressing over dust bunnies. I eat cereal on the counter while boxes sit in the living room. If he wants it perfect he can clean it himself. I’m too tired to care rn.

Quote from Sara1989 on September 25, 2022, 7:43 amHonestly same. I push myself too hard thinking I need to mirror the girls on insta. Then Im dead. Now I just do 20 mins steady cardio. No heavy lifting. Wash up, drink big glass of water with dates. Then I nap for 30 mins. Wake up like a new person. Stop trying to be perfect. Just show up. Your body will thank u.

Quote from Redyarn on February 10, 2022, 2:36 pmnah i would just tell her straight up. tell her its not our culture or tradition here. we don't do that kind of stuff in the house. its confusing for my kids too. just say no politely but firmly. dont let her push it. keep the space yours. if she keeps it up ask her to do it at her place or temple. boundary setting is key fam.

Quote from Sagepass on March 25, 2022, 12:18 pmHonestly that sounds nasty. My husband always says I smell like dirt and old coffee after he lets the dogs out. I just dump cheap white wine on my ankles and forget it. If he’s analyzing your scent you should probably find someone less obsessed with weird details. I’m too tired to deal with that kind of nonsense. Just keep ignoring him until he goes away. Seriously men are so exhausting sometimes.

Quote from pam1968 on May 12, 2022, 7:22 amI stop chasing them. I find a bench and sit. If they want me to watch them swing or drop and run, they gotta come get me. I’m in my forties, my knees are shot and I refuse to jog after a seven year old anymore. They learn pretty quick that mom is stationary unless they initiate. Saves my energy and tests their legs.

Quote from stardust1995 on January 27, 2022, 5:27 pmMan that is rough. Honestly we do a chore chart every Sunday night. Pretty much treats it like work shifts. He got the evening shift until 8 then I take over. It ain't always perfect but it helps split the mental load. If he ghosts his shift we talk about it the next day no yelling just facts. You gotta set boundaries early or it never changes.

Quote from bluebirdsky1979 on September 24, 2022, 5:29 pmit is 11 pm and the house is dead quiet. my husband fell asleep on the couch at 930 pm with the tv still on. i just did laundry for the fourth time this week because the kids spill juice everywhere. i went to target today for a $2 cereal box and spent $80 on stuff i do not need. now i am sitting here drinking rooibos tea but i cannot relax. the air feels heavy. why does my home feel so cold and empty when my whole family is literally in the other room? i tried lighting a candle from ulta but it did not help. i just feel so drained. is this normal or am i just crazy?

Quote from soft1994 on December 29, 2022, 10:07 amI take a multivitamin and fish oil every morning with coffee lol. My daughter does the same thing so maybe she just feels like she knows better on this stuff. I just keep taking mine because I dont feel great without them. If it works for you keep doing it. Ignore the side eye.

Quote from Vinecottage on January 16, 2022, 4:18 pmi finally stopped forcing myself to go. For real, honestly, i just read on my couch now. saves me thirty bucks a month and i dont have to pretend to enjoy cardio. my hips are bigger but my eyesight is worse from staring at screens anyway. whatever. peace of mind costs less than a gym membership these days.
