why is everyone pushing the glute activation trend
Quote from Dorothy1998 on February 12, 2019, 9:46 amI went to Target at 8 pm on Tuesday. Just wanted some milk and cereal. Then I saw the workout section. Every single ad showed a woman doing some weird squat thing. They are all yelling about glute activation. I don’t even know what that means. My gym trainer keeps telling me to squeeze my butt before I lift anything. I am so tired of hearing it. I just want to get strong. I have a kid who needs eggs in the morning. I don’t have time to think about my sciatic nerve. Is this a real thing or just marketing? Why does every YouTube video start with ten minutes of warmups? I just want to lift weights and go home. Does anyone else feel like they are being sold the same thing over and over

Quote from PollencurtaIN on December 25, 2019, 7:54 pmhonestly i just ignore the suck. Omg, ive been lifting alone for two years now since the divorce. some days i barely survive the set but i show up anyway. my knees hurt and i feel like a grandma but seeing the weight go up keeps me sane. its not about being strong its about doing it when you dont want to. thats the only win that matters right now.

Quote from Kathryn1967 on August 13, 2020, 7:30 pmsame. its like my brain just turns on at exactly 3. i lay there staring at the ceiling wondering why i sent that text 3 years ago. tried reading, tried meditation, nothing works. now i just accept it and listen to true crime podcasts until i pass out again. honestly tired of being tired but cant turn the thoughts off. ugh.

Quote from Redrose1991 on January 28, 2020, 11:24 pmi just blocked him and deleted the app. honestly it felt like a relief. i spent three years trying to fix things that werent broken on my end and now im just focusing on myself. no more late night scrolling or wondering if he’s talking to someone else. peace of mind is worth more than any potential match.

Quote from fordtooth on February 13, 2020, 6:09 amHaha same here sister. My kids are finally napping so Idc. I just brew a double and sit in silence. Its the only time I remember I exist. If I stop now my brain starts racing anyway. So might as well enjoy it. My husband complains but I tell him shhh. Peace is expensive.

Quote from Redrose1982 on June 28, 2021, 10:24 pmhonestly yeah its normal. my husband does this all the time. he just needs space to recharge without talking. i figured it out early so now i just let him be. go do my own thing while he sits in his cave. once he comes out he talks again. dont take it personal. its just how he processes stuff. works for us.

Quote from Dawnmoss on November 22, 2021, 10:44 pmHoney, mine is dead too. My husband snores like a chainsaw so we just sleep. Honestly, I find more joy being alone with a glass of wine or reading a book. It's just life at this stage. Don't beat yourself up about it. We're grandmas now, not models. Enjoy the peace and quiet.

Quote from true1966 on February 27, 2021, 12:31 pmyeah it is definitely just you lol. my body goes crazy after heavy lifts. i usually have a handful of sunflower seeds and a banana right when i finish. keeps me from feeling like i might pass out but doesnt make me too full. sometimes if its really bad i sip on bone broth while i cool down. helps with the cravings without wrecking my appetite for dinner later.
