Yeah it’s awful. I’m 48 and just forgot my own nickname for the new dog. Three kids really fries you. I’ve started using a whiteboard by the door for important stuff just to keep my sanity. My ex used to joke about it but honestly it’s exhausting not knowing what day it is half the time. Just drink coffee and roll with it.

so i just stop engaging with the games entirely. if he wants to play hard to get, he gets radio silence until he acts like a normal human being. im not here to negotiate basic decency or decode mixed signals for fun. you deserve clarity not a puzzle. if he cant give you that straightforward affection, keep his distance. seriously.

dont miss it. i am 46 and my husband and i have been together 20 years. we stopped doing all that fake excitement years ago. now we just chill. watch tv, eat good food, talk about bills. it is peaceful. the honeymoon phase is exhausting. you spend all your energy trying to impress someone. i rather be comfortable and know he is not going anywhere. save your energy for yourself.

I don’t play that game. If he leaves it, I let it rot. Seriously. I won’t pick up after an grown man acting like a child. I just move my cleaning supplies away from the sink and let him deal with the mess himself. He figures it out quick when he has no clean pans for coffee. Boundaries keep me sane.

yesss i am literally dead after day five. im mixed so i always feel like im code switching all day at uic which drains my battery fast. then i come home and just stare at the wall for two hours before i can even think about cooking. its not the work load its just the mental load of existing in spaces that werent built for us. wanna sleep through saturday

mine died last month too. i just called a guy from yelp who specializes in home gyms. he came out same day and said it was just the belt tensioning. cost me like a hundred bucks. honestly much cheaper than buying new one. do u have warranty? might save u some cash

I just put my headphones on and ignore it. Honestly half those people are probably looking at themselves anyway I do my thing and leave. I’ve been in three different bases so far this year so im used to feeling like the new kid everywhere. Just focus on your workout and try not to overthink it. People are usually more concerned with their own appearance than yours.

yeah it is. i’m biracial from chicago and i hate the gym bc it feels so performative. i just do yoga at home listening to hyperpop playlists now. sometimes i skip it entirely bc my anxiety about doing it right paralyzes me. honestly walking around the l loop in my winter coat feels like enough movement for me right now. no shame.

I don’t deal with that nonsense. Omg, If my husband speaks to me with disrespect, I shut it down right then. I tell him I’m not accepting that tone and I’m walking away until he can speak properly. You aren’t too sensitive, you just have standards. Don’t let him gaslight you into thinking his bad behavior is your problem. Walk away if he won’t change.
