Setting boundaries
Quote from Helen1989 on June 6, 2022, 11:37 amI literally sprint into the locker room and close my eyes for 60 sec. Heart rate spikes just thinking about people watching. My trick is noise cancelling headphones and ignoring everyone. Once i start moving the panic fades. Just zone out. dont look at mirrors. keep it simple. u got this but yeah the walk in is the hardest part.

Quote from mountainmom1977 on May 18, 2022, 12:08 amHonestly i just stopped apologizing for it. My auntie sat me down and said my body is mine not his obligation. Now i just say no clearly without over explaining. If they get mad that’s on them. Also make sure you’re not just burnt out from kitchen duty all week. Rest is valid. Keep your boundaries firm sis.

Quote from Grovebriar on November 16, 2022, 11:23 amHoney honestly at 54 i am just so done. Kids are grown and i got my garden to tend to so that clock just stopped for me. My husband thinks im cold but nah im just tired. We watch tv and hold hands most nights and that is perfectly fine. Dont let nobody make you feel bad about needing rest instead of racking the barn. Peace is good too.

Quote from calmrose on August 11, 2022, 9:47 pmHoney dont try to force it. Honestly, When im tired i just sit in my rocker for ten minutes and hold my rosary beads. No singing no chanting nothing. Sometimes i light one candle and just breathe. Thats enough. Spirit doesnt need a performance. Rest your legs. Youre doing fine even if u sit still all day. Love ya.

Quote from betty1973 on April 24, 2022, 8:34 pmfr bro is he alive lol i usually say let me grab my purse first cuz that’s my polite way of saying no without being rude. also check if he’s just rushing to get home. my ex did that. u know the drill. keep it casual and see if he walks u to ur car or just stands there staring. red flag if hes clocking the whole date like its a pit stop.

Quote from Starkeep on June 3, 2022, 11:40 pmhonestly i stopped trying to force myself to the gym. it just wasn working for me. now i just do 20 mins of yoga on my living room rug when i have time. some days i skip it and thats ok. no guilt. just moving my body because it feels good, not because some schedule says i should. keep it simple and dont beat yourself up over missing a day.

Quote from Abigail2001 on March 22, 2022, 1:50 amHonestly not weird at all. We moved three times in two years so our bedroom setups have been half packed in boxes for months. Husband thinks I’m rejecting him, but I’m just exhausted. Most intimacy now is him falling asleep on the couch while I fold laundry. If I’m lucky we try for 10 minutes but usually it’s a nope from me. Just survive, don’t expect much until the kids actually leave the house.

Quote from Jacqueline1979 on May 12, 2022, 4:23 ammy husband used to say the same thing back in our twenties. i just stopped asking him what he wanted for dinner and started making whatever i felt like eating. he either eats it or he makes his own. honestly it’s been way less stressful since i stopped trying to recreate my mom’s exact recipes. my food is just mine now.

Quote from Sweetmeadow1991 on October 13, 2023, 8:29 pmYeah it’s the divorce fatigue. I’m 46 and honestly just wrecked. Spent all day sorting through mail and thinking about alimony payments instead of actually living. My knees hurt from walking the dog and my brain feels foggy all day. Just drank iced coffee but still feel heavy. Not sure if it’s grief or just old age kicking in early.
