my skin is so dry lately

Its just awful this winter. My hands look like old parchment paper and the skin on my face feels tight all the time. I tried that Cetaphil stuff from CVS but it didnt help much. Then I got some Olay from Walgreens yesterday, the red jar, but my elbows still feel rough. I even put lotion on before bed last night, around 10, and woke up still feeling like sandpaper. Is anyone else dealing with this?

Ugh, I know what you mean about the parchment hands. Mine get so bad I feel like I can’t even bend my fingers properly. I’ve been using the Eucerin Intensive Repair lotion and it’s been a lifesaver.

@Honeybee2001, I tried Cetaphil too and it did nothing for me either. I think maybe our skin just needs something a little richer. Have you tried anything with ceramides?

Oh man, the tightness is the worst. I feel like I’m going to crack. My mom told me to try Vaseline at night, just a thin layer, and it’s actually making a difference. I do it after my regular moisturizer.

I'm right there with you! My face feels so tight too, especially after I wash it. I usually just use whatever generic moisturizer I have, but I'm going to have to look into something else. Maybe something for sensitive skin?

@Honeybee2001, I totally get the tight feeling. My mom suggested Vaseline at night after my regular moisturizer and it's actually helped. I even put some on my elbows.

@Honeybee2001, yeah, Cetaphil didn't do much for me either. I think you're right, maybe we need something richer. Have you looked into anything with ceramides yet?

I know exactly what you mean about the tightness after washing your face. I was just using whatever generic stuff I had, but I'm starting to think I need to switch. My daughter recommended something from the drugstore.
