Quote from Pamela2001 on September 11, 2023, 4:42 amSach? I miss it too. In India we say marriage is long, but first year was pure magic. Now? Just bills and Kids ka homework. My husband is like roommate now. No dates, just grocery runs. I make effort to dress up sometimes just for me tho. Small things like coffee date without kids helps. We try Sunday breakfast out once a month. It keeps something alive tbh.

Quote from Marie1981 on October 4, 2024, 2:23 pmhaan gym mehnat hai. Ngl, I go 4 days a week. Lift heavy things, run on treadmill for 20 mins. No fancy classes. Just me and the machine. Sometimes body hurts next day but I keep going. It is not fun always. But I feel strong after. My husband says too much exercise. I say no, need to stay healthy for kids. Simple routine works for me.

Quote from shoredusk on October 4, 2024, 2:23 pmman its awful. i just gave him tylenol and laid him on the couch with extra blankets. then i set five alarms on my phone to check his temp while hes sleeping. if hes burning up by 4am i call out and just dont go in. better than trying to work with a sick kid at home. hope he breaks the fever soon.

Quote from Marie1986 on July 27, 2024, 6:41 ami just walk everywhere. no matter where we live, i get outside. sometimes it’s snow, sometimes heat, doesn’t matter. i stretch on the porch before coffee. it keeps my joints loose. i don’t need a gym membership that expires every time we pack up. my body is my home too, so i treat it with respect daily. simple movements count more than fancy routines.

Quote from free1983 on October 13, 2024, 3:06 pmOur ghar mein main handle karta hoon mostly. Omg, He just wants to relax baad mein. When he asked for new things pichle saal, main said no thank you. I am tired after work. We keep it simple abhi. No drama, no extra stress. Just normal life. He agreed finally because I was firm. Don’t compromise your peace for his whim.

Quote from Kind1991 on May 13, 2024, 11:23 pmwe moved 3 times last year. my husband thinks moving boxes is mans work but folding shirts is mine. i let the living room pile up. he complained once then carried the trash to curb himself. dont cook fancy food on day 1. order pizza. if house isnt perfect but kids are fed and beds are made thats win in my book. survival mode is real for immigrant moms.

Quote from True2005 on May 13, 2024, 11:23 pmMan that is rough. Honestly we do a chore chart every Sunday night. Pretty much treats it like work shifts. He got the evening shift until 8 then I take over. It ain't always perfect but it helps split the mental load. If he ghosts his shift we talk about it the next day no yelling just facts. You gotta set boundaries early or it never changes.

Quote from Ann1965 on December 12, 2024, 1:09 amit is 11 pm and the house is dead quiet. my husband fell asleep on the couch at 930 pm with the tv still on. i just did laundry for the fourth time this week because the kids spill juice everywhere. i went to target today for a $2 cereal box and spent $80 on stuff i do not need. now i am sitting here drinking rooibos tea but i cannot relax. the air feels heavy. why does my home feel so cold and empty when my whole family is literally in the other room? i tried lighting a candle from ulta but it did not help. i just feel so drained. is this normal or am i just crazy?

Quote from Velvetequivalence on February 29, 2024, 1:52 pmhon i set clear boundaries day one. told her house rules include no rituals in living spaces. she can do it in her own place or outside. simple as that. been married 12 years, never had issues since. if you dont speak up they just keep doing it. be direct but polite. my dad in law handles the stuff now. works for us.
