is this normal for hair?
Quote from Heather2003 on December 28, 2019, 7:28 pmhi everyone, hope you're all having a better day than I am. I'm just so tired. My hair has been falling out in clumps in the shower for weeks now. Like, more than usual. I'm using that sulfate-free shampoo from Target, the one that's like $12, and the conditioner from Whole Foods that's supposed to be good for thinning hair. I bought it last month. I'm so worried. My scalp feels a little itchy too, but maybe that's just in my head. I feel like I'm running my hands through it and there's just less and less. Is anyone else dealing with this?

Quote from Citylights1995 on December 29, 2019, 11:55 amOh no, @Heather2003! That sounds so stressful. I'm sorry you're going through that. Have you tried a different shampoo or conditioner? I find mine makes a big difference.

Quote from Amanda945 on December 31, 2019, 6:14 pmUgh, hair loss is the worst. I dealt with that after my second baby. It eventually stopped, but it took months. Try not to worry too much yet.

Quote from Sweetdawn1969 on December 31, 2019, 11:59 pmClumps in the shower? That's definitely more than usual. I hope you figure out what's causing it. Maybe see a doctor just to be safe?

Quote from Sugarplum2002 on December 31, 2019, 11:59 pmHey @Heather2003, I get it. My hair thins out a bit in the winter. Sulfate-free is good though, so at least you've got that going for you. Hope it gets better soon!

Quote from stonemoat on December 31, 2019, 11:59 pm@Heather2003, I'm so sorry about your hair. Mine thinned out a little after my thyroid meds changed, but not in clumps. It's definitely worth asking your doctor about. I hope you feel better.

Quote from Braveheart90 on December 31, 2019, 11:59 pmClumps sound really concerning, @Heather2003. Post 3's experience after having a baby is common, but it still stinks. Did you change anything else recently, like diet or new vitamins?

Quote from ReefDesert on December 31, 2019, 11:59 pmYeah, @Heather2003, clumps are more than just winter thinning like I get. Sulfate-free is a good start, but maybe try a deep conditioner too? My hair feels better after using one once a week.

Quote from glowaccomplishment on December 31, 2019, 11:59 pmOh wow, @Heather2003, clumps in the shower is a lot. Post 4 is right, a doctor visit might be a good idea to rule anything out. I hope you find some answers soon.

Quote from Jacqueline552 on December 31, 2019, 11:59 pm@Heather2003, totally agree with @Post6 about seeing a doctor. It's probably nothing, but better safe than sorry, right? My sister had something similar after a bad flu last year and they found she was low on iron. She was feeling super tired too though, so maybe check for that?
