Quote from Sleethistory on May 28, 2025, 5:25 pmhonestly i stopped trying to force myself to the gym. it just wasn working for me. now i just do 20 mins of yoga on my living room rug when i have time. some days i skip it and thats ok. no guilt. just moving my body because it feels good, not because some schedule says i should. keep it simple and dont beat yourself up over missing a day.

Quote from Melissa1967 on February 15, 2025, 1:36 pmit is 11 pm and the house is dead quiet. my husband fell asleep on the couch at 930 pm with the tv still on. i just did laundry for the fourth time this week because the kids spill juice everywhere. i went to target today for a $2 cereal box and spent $80 on stuff i do not need. now i am sitting here drinking rooibos tea but i cannot relax. the air feels heavy. why does my home feel so cold and empty when my whole family is literally in the other room? i tried lighting a candle from ulta but it did not help. i just feel so drained. is this normal or am i just crazy?

Quote from amy1984 on August 28, 2025, 2:48 amHonestly yes I do it twice a week even at my age. Yes it hurts the next day but the strength is worth it. I just lifted light dumbbells and did some squats yesterday. Felt like jelly today but I can still carry my groceries and play with my grandkids without my back killing me. Just stretch well and drink plenty of water. It keeps me independent and strong.

Quote from Ironanalogy on June 22, 2025, 2:58 pmi just do it. keep it simple. load the bar, bend over, pull. my ancestors were strong so im wired for this. i dont overthink the technique much, just move the weight. sometimes i fail, that’s normal. i breathe through my nose, focus on my core, and push through. it feels good when the weight moves. no fancy gear needed, just sweat and determination. keep showing up.

Quote from Pearlpledge on June 29, 2025, 2:52 pmhit a wall yesterday after leg day. Ngl, felt like garbage for two days. just pushed through hydration and sleep. now i’m fine but dead tired. honestly might be eating enough protein too. my gym buddy says i look like i got hit by a bus after workouts. not helpful but funny. try drinking more water and maybe lower intensity for a week. see if that helps.

Quote from willowtoken on June 7, 2025, 5:50 pmGirl same. My doc said early perimenopause and i felt like dying. The hot flashes are wild and the brain fog is real. I just started taking vitamin d and magnesium plus trying to sleep more. It helps a little but its still rough. Yount alone tho. Just take it one day at a time.

Quote from azureleaf on March 30, 2026, 11:04 pmhonestly i stopped asking him to help. i just do what needs doing while he hangs out. if he complains about the mess i tell him to fix it himself or shut up. at this point his energy is not worth the fight. i save my mental peace for myself and my kids. let him live in the chaos he ignores. peace is more important than being right.

Quote from Luckycharm1997 on August 12, 2026, 11:12 amHoney same here. Omg, I used to pay for that gym membership but honestly just sat on one machine for twenty minutes. Now I walk my dog around the neighborhood twice a day. Gets my heart rate up and Im outside. Saves my wallet too. Plus I see the neighbors which is way nicer than staring at a wall.

Quote from margaret1995 on December 21, 2025, 6:15 amI honestly just walk on the treadmill and read audiobooks. If I try to lift weights with the bros I look like an idiot anyway so I just dodge them. Also the laundry situation is a nightmare so I bring extra clothes. I hate the smell of the place but at least I can zone out and not talk to anyone which is probably why I do it.

Quote from judith1983 on August 3, 2025, 10:23 amyeah it’s definitely worse. i’m 29 and the dating apps feel like a part time job i hate. half the guys here in chicago are either looking for a hookup or still acting like they’re in college. the other half are married but won’t admit it. i’m tired of explaining that having a career and boundaries doesn’t mean i’m high maintenance. honestly i’d rather just stay in and order pad thai. the ratio of decent men to available women feels completely off right now and i’m over pretending otherwise.
