help with toddler sleep??
Quote from budbeat on December 15, 2019, 8:54 amugh, its 11:30pm and leo is still awake. we did bath time at 7, read two books, tried the white noise machine. he just keeps asking for water or saying he needs to potty. we went to target today and he screamed the whole time in the cart. i just wanted to grab some groceries for dinner, like pasta and sauce, nothing fancy. he’s just so wired all the time. i feel like i haven’t slept more than 4 hours straight in months. im so tired i almost bought oat milk instead of almond. is anyone else dealing with this?

Quote from Donna893 on December 17, 2019, 10:05 am@budbeat Oh man, that sounds rough! We had a phase where my littlest kept asking for water constantly. Turns out he just wanted one more sip from his special dinosaur cup. Hope Leo settles down soon!

Quote from dreamsapphire on December 19, 2019, 9:55 amI totally get the potty requests at bedtime. My oldest used to do that. We'd go, then five minutes later, "I gotta go again!" Drove me nuts. Sending sleepy vibes your way.

Quote from Firevista on December 20, 2019, 5:58 amTwo books is good! We sometimes sneak in a third if they're really resisting sleep. And white noise can be hit or miss. Have you tried different sounds? My daughter likes rain.

Quote from Goldfinch on December 21, 2019, 1:10 pmUgh, Leo's still up? That's the worst. It's like they know it's supposed to be quiet time. My son was like that last week, I ended up just sitting on the floor outside his door for a bit.

Quote from baywish on December 24, 2019, 7:09 am@budbeat Oh no, still up! My youngest was like this last month. We started a strict "no more liquids after dinner" rule and it actually helped a lot with the water requests. Hang in there!

Quote from Happytree on December 25, 2019, 10:20 pm@budbeat I feel you on the potty requests. My middle one would do that every night. We ended up doing a quick potty break right before we got into bed, no exceptions. Hope Leo is asleep now!

Quote from Mossstrait on December 27, 2019, 3:31 am@budbeat Sitting outside the door is a good move. Sometimes just knowing you're there is enough. My oldest used to need me to just sit in the chair in his room until he drifted off. Totally exhausting.

Quote from rebecca1967 on December 27, 2019, 5:06 am@budbeat Rain sounds! That's a good idea. We've been using ocean waves, but maybe switching it up would help. Hope Leo finally crashed. I have laundry to fold still.
