Just got back from Teuila Market in Honolulu with arms full of fresh ‘ulu (breadfruit) from Da Kine Mike’s booth—you know the one where the line wraps around the whole block by noon? The smell of coconut syrup drizzled over warm paia bread sticks still lingers on my fingers, and I swear I can taste the salt from the ocean breeze that rolled in while we were there. My 4-year-old niece, Leilani, got the biggest grins picking out purple sweet potatoes with her chubby little hands and insisted on carrying the bag the whole way to the car.

It got me thinking about how simple things—like gathering food with loved ones or the way the sun hits the wet pavement after a rain—can feel like little prayers. Has anyone else felt that? Like the world cracks open just a little when you’re present for those quiet, sacred moments? What’s one small thing that’s ever made you pause and go *oh*—pure gratitude?
