is it wrong that i miss the honeymoon phase
Quote from Fiona1972 on December 19, 2019, 10:28 amIt is just past nine pm and my feet hurt. I was at Walmart in the north lane getting cheap laundry detergent for three ninety nine cents when it hit me. I really miss when we used to just talk for hours on the porch. Now it is just about who is picking up the kids from soccer practice and if we need more toilet paper. My husband is snoring in the other room and I am sitting here in my old bathrobe feeling lonely in my own house. We have been married twenty two years and I guess that is supposed to be the new normal but honestly it feels heavy. I want to remember when he looked at me like I was the only woman in the room instead of just the person who knows where the spare keys are. Do you ladies ever feel this way or am I just being greedy for attention?

Quote from Peachy2003 on March 5, 2020, 12:55 pmnah i would just tell her straight up. tell her its not our culture or tradition here. we don't do that kind of stuff in the house. its confusing for my kids too. just say no politely but firmly. dont let her push it. keep the space yours. if she keeps it up ask her to do it at her place or temple. boundary setting is key fam.

Quote from fernharbor on November 1, 2020, 5:35 pmYeah its totally normal especially if u just started or increased intensity. I get the same knee pain after leg day. Usually means weak muscles or bad form. I do straight leg raises and glute bridges daily to strengthen it. Also stop doing squats if it hurts. Stretch after workout. Drink water. Ice if swollen. See doctor if pain persists. Dont push through sharp pain. Rest is key.

Quote from Kindcrown on August 17, 2020, 3:29 pmTotally feel this. I work in IT so I spend all day glued to screens anyway. Gym is just another isolating activity for me. I go to my local place near the office, grab a squat rack, listen to a podcast while lifting, then leave. No eye contact, no small talk. It’s efficient but yeah, super lonely. I usually just text my hype girl before and after. We don’t even workout together, just vent about heavy sets.

Quote from Fieldwithdrawal on November 19, 2020, 8:52 ammy knees feel like lead too after driving all day. i just pop up every hour to stretch my legs and do some squats if i can. sometimes i put ice on them when i get home. its crazy how much sitting hurts older bodies. try not to stay in one spot for too long if you can help it. take care of yourself.

Quote from heather1991 on April 7, 2020, 6:56 pmhon i set clear boundaries day one. told her house rules include no rituals in living spaces. she can do it in her own place or outside. simple as that. been married 12 years, never had issues since. if you dont speak up they just keep doing it. be direct but polite. my dad in law handles the stuff now. works for us.

Quote from Peachblossom1971 on July 7, 2020, 8:09 amYeah honey I been there. My knees dont stop hurting and I catch myself staring at the neighbors house wondering who is inside. So I started walking the track at my church twice a day. Just walking yall. No talking. It helps clear my head. Also tried those little pickle snacks at the drugstore weirdly they hit the spot. Be kind to yourself mama.

Quote from peachy1970 on April 17, 2020, 8:46 pmit is 11 pm and the house is dead quiet. my husband fell asleep on the couch at 930 pm with the tv still on. i just did laundry for the fourth time this week because the kids spill juice everywhere. i went to target today for a $2 cereal box and spent $80 on stuff i do not need. now i am sitting here drinking rooibos tea but i cannot relax. the air feels heavy. why does my home feel so cold and empty when my whole family is literally in the other room? i tried lighting a candle from ulta but it did not help. i just feel so drained. is this normal or am i just crazy?

Quote from RainSummit on April 23, 2020, 1:20 amHonestly that sounds nasty. My husband always says I smell like dirt and old coffee after he lets the dogs out. I just dump cheap white wine on my ankles and forget it. If he’s analyzing your scent you should probably find someone less obsessed with weird details. I’m too tired to deal with that kind of nonsense. Just keep ignoring him until he goes away. Seriously men are so exhausting sometimes.

Quote from free1974 on June 22, 2020, 9:14 ami just do it. keep it simple. load the bar, bend over, pull. my ancestors were strong so im wired for this. i dont overthink the technique much, just move the weight. sometimes i fail, that’s normal. i breathe through my nose, focus on my core, and push through. it feels good when the weight moves. no fancy gear needed, just sweat and determination. keep showing up.
