i think i have the flu but i cant afford to stop working
Quote from True1964 on December 5, 2019, 6:47 pmi have been feeling sick since tuesday morning. my head is pounding and my throat hurts like i swallowed glass. it is probably the flu everyone is getting. i have three kids and a full week of shifts at the grocery store. i cannot call out because i will lose hours and my paycheck is already too tight this month. i bought some cheap cold medicine at winco yesterday for four dollars but it does not help much. i am sleeping on the couch so i do not make the girls sick. i feel hot and then cold. i just need to get through friday. has anyone tried honey with hot tea or did you just push through it?

Quote from Warmorchard on October 1, 2019, 9:52 pmI moved my shower time to early morning. Omg, By the time he’s done his long ritual I’ve already finished mine and started getting ready for the day. It stopped the waiting game completely. I just had to accept that’s how he takes care of himself and adjust my schedule around it. Works for now since we both get what we need without the passive aggression over the bathroom.

Quote from Sam1990 on July 10, 2020, 3:19 pmhonestly i just bring the dumbbells and mat to the hotel room. moving around every two years means i never feel like lugging a gym bag across town. im homebody now. if i had it my way id do a quick 15 min session in the living room while the kids nap. saves me from dealing with crowded locker rooms and strangers trying to use my equipment. simple is best for me these days.

Quote from Heather on March 10, 2020, 11:23 amomg same. just sit cross legged on a folded blanket instead of floor. keeps hips higher so less pressure on tailbone. i use old yoga mats cut up as extra cushions too. dont force posture if pain is there. just breathe and let body find comfort wherever that is today. sometimes less is more tbh.

Quote from lori1967 on January 25, 2020, 2:12 amsame here. the humidity is brutal rn. i literally just put ice packs on my wrists and neck for like ten min before bed. also run the shower really cold until the pipes get freezing then turn it off and climb in. it actually helps me stay asleep longer since my body temp drops. good luck staying awake lol. going to try the fan trick again tonight.

Quote from Jane1988 on March 2, 2020, 10:30 amYeah totally. Ngl, I used to say yes to everything and ended up burnt out before the season even started. Now I just ghost people who ask favors if theyre not close friends. Saves me so much mental energy. If they get mad they werent worth the hassle anyway. Focus is everything when you have real goals. No guilt allowed.

Quote from Fluteleat on February 17, 2020, 6:43 ami just walk everywhere. Lol, no matter where we live, i get outside. sometimes it’s snow, sometimes heat, doesn’t matter. i stretch on the porch before coffee. it keeps my joints loose. i don’t need a gym membership that expires every time we pack up. my body is my home too, so i treat it with respect daily. simple movements count more than fancy routines.

Quote from Lucky1983 on September 15, 2020, 11:15 pmwe moved 3 times last year. my husband thinks moving boxes is mans work but folding shirts is mine. i let the living room pile up. he complained once then carried the trash to curb himself. dont cook fancy food on day 1. order pizza. if house isnt perfect but kids are fed and beds are made thats win in my book. survival mode is real for immigrant moms.

Quote from kimberly2000 on August 14, 2020, 10:18 amim a mil spouse so we moved 4 times in 3 years. my prs never got stuck, they just vanished because i had no stable gym or consistent routine. i focused on mastering slow perfect reps with whatever weight i could carry in my duffel bag. consistency over intensity when life is chaotic. dont expect linear progress when ur environment keeps changing.
