husband never helps with the kids and i am so done
Quote from freejourney on January 19, 2019, 12:38 amIt is 11 pm. The house is messy. I just cleaned the living room floor three times. My husband is in the other room playing video games. He did not help with dinner. He did not help with the kids. I made pizza from the store near our house. It cost twenty five dollars. I am so tired. I work all day. I come home and start working again. He says he is tired too. But he sleeps on the couch. I wash the dishes. I fold the clothes. I am done. I want to sleep. I want peace. But I am still awake. Is it normal to feel this alone? What should I do now?

Quote from Patricia1994 on June 13, 2019, 4:06 amhonestly same vibe. Honestly, my man keeps pushing stuff i just do not have energy for anymore. i told him straight up that i am tapped out. sometimes you just gotta say no to the new thing and protect your peace. i spent last weekend just sitting by the river refreshing myself. if you do not want it, do not do it. boundaries save marriages. he needs to accept where you are at right now.

Quote from Glencotton on June 19, 2020, 11:40 amHonestly sounds like you are just burnt out. My aura isn’t broken either, just tired. I wake up early for fajr pray then rush kids to school. After work I cook for everyone because mom always says food is love. Now I sit on couch staring at phone. If I don’t sleep 8 hours my face gets pale and I snap at husband. Just rest already.

Quote from sungrove on October 17, 2020, 11:33 amugh right. i used to try deep breathing but it just made me more anxious. now i just zone out with loud action movies or listen to true crime podcasts. keeps my brain busy so i dont overthink. also ice baths help when my muscles feel tight from stress. honestly just numbing the noise out works better than trying to calm down. its exhausting being on high alert all the time.

Quote from sharon1987 on October 25, 2020, 4:58 pmnah i would just tell her straight up. tell her its not our culture or tradition here. we don't do that kind of stuff in the house. its confusing for my kids too. just say no politely but firmly. dont let her push it. keep the space yours. if she keeps it up ask her to do it at her place or temple. boundary setting is key fam.

Quote from ferntruce on November 24, 2020, 4:12 pmI feel this. Tbh, Last year I hit a wall too. I’m a teacher so I spend all day pouring into others and come home with nothing left. I realized it wasnt laziness, it was just burnout. Now I force myself to rest without guilt. Honestly just taking a nap or doing absolutely nothing for an hour changed everything. Youre not lazy, youre just drained. Be kind to yourself.

Quote from froststream on April 23, 2020, 11:12 pmI just stopped fighting it. Omg, Bought the basic cerave cleanser and nothing else. Used to buy fancy stuff hoping it would fix everything. Now I just wash, moisturize, and let it be. My skin actually cleared up when I stopped stressing over it. Sometimes doing less is the only move left when you are exhausted.

Quote from Lily1978 on October 6, 2021, 12:50 amugh leave her alone. Honestly, I take so much stuff my daughter thinks I’m one pill away from exploding. Vitamin d, b complex, magnesium, the works. If it makes me feel better then I’m taking it. She rolls her eyes but now she’s putting gummies in my bag. let her think I’m crazy as long as I’m healthy. mi vida es mi fiesta.

Quote from Lisa1974 on October 22, 2021, 5:02 pmhonestly same here after workdays. im usually exhausted and just want to crash. we started taking turns getting our needs met or just cuddling without pressure. sometimes he goes to the gym late or reads so i can sleep straight through. communication is key tho. tell him exactly when ur up for it. dont feel guilty about wanting rest.

Quote from BlueHope on May 23, 2021, 6:11 pmyup same. i do high impact stuff so my knees are basically shot. after sunday service i literally have to ice them for an hour straight. it sucks but hey, pain is temporary right. just keep moving and take some ibuprofen if you have to. dont let it stop you from hitting the gym tomorrow. we got this.
