help with toddler snacks
Quote from Creekparade on January 6, 2020, 8:14 amanyone have any genius ideas for toddler snacks? mine is suddenly so picky. he used to eat anything, like those little plum organic pouches and whole wheat crackers, but now he just pushes them away. it’s driving me crazy. i spent way too much at target on saturday on stuff he won't even touch. we’re talking fruit bars, cheese sticks, you name it. he's almost 3, and it feels like I'm back at square one. i just want something easy he'll actually eat. what do you guys give your picky eaters?

Quote from Doris1990 on January 8, 2020, 8:10 am@Creekparade oh that picky stage is the WORST. My youngest went through it last year. Have you tried cutting things into fun shapes? I got these little cookie cutters and it made applesauce even more exciting.

Quote from Countryroad1978 on January 10, 2020, 2:19 pmI feel you @Creekparade! Mine did that too. I ended up hiding veggies in things. Like grated zucchini in mini muffins or pureed carrots in mac and cheese. Seemed to work for a bit.

Quote from boldleaf79 on January 11, 2020, 5:59 amTotally get it @Creekparade. My son is 4 now but the toddler years were rough for snacks. We did a lot of cheese sticks and grapes cut in half. Easy and usually a winner.

Quote from Trueseaside1994 on January 12, 2020, 10:49 amUgh, picky toddlers are a special kind of challenge. @Creekparade, I found sometimes offering a few choices was better than just one thing. Like, "Do you want crackers or yogurt?" instead of just putting crackers down.

Quote from Becky1999 on January 12, 2020, 12:55 pm@Creekparade, the cookie cutter idea is cute! I tried that with melon, and my little one just ate the shapes. Worth a shot though.

Quote from lightlough on January 14, 2020, 2:32 am@Creekparade, hiding veggies is genius! I've been meaning to try that. My kiddo actually likes carrots, so maybe I can grate some into pancake batter.

Quote from Fieldtag on January 14, 2020, 8:40 amTotally with you @Creekparade. Cheese sticks and grapes are my go-tos too. I always cut the grapes lengthwise, it feels safer.

Quote from Covefarewell on January 17, 2020, 6:11 am@Creekparade, offering choices is smart. I do that sometimes. Today I asked if he wanted banana or strawberries, and he picked the strawberries, which is a win.

Quote from Jenny71 on January 20, 2020, 3:10 am@Creekparade, the cheese stick and grapes idea is solid. I do the same, always cutting the grapes lengthwise, feels a bit safer for them.
