Hey there, I’m Layla—just moved to this neighborhood a few weeks ago and still get lost between the Arab Bakery on 7th and the halal butcher on Maple. 😅 Between unpacking boxes and figuring out where to get za’atar that doesn’t taste like cardboard, I keep daydreaming about opening a tiny shop of my own one day.

Some days I feel like I’m running on three hours of sleep and too much coffee, but then my neighbor Mrs. Patel brings over samosas when she smells my lentil soup burning—just like my ammi used to. Turns out kindness travels faster than I do.

Do any of you feel guilty when you take “me time” but your to-do list looks longer than a grocery line at Iftar? How do you make space for your own needs without the mom guilt?
